About Raleigh Comprehensive Treatment Center in Raleigh, NC

Raleigh Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) delivers clinically excellent care for adults age 18 and older who have addictions to opioids like fentanyl, heroin, and prescription painkillers. Located in Raleigh, North Carolina, our outpatient opioid addiction treatment center specializes in medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and serves individuals throughout Wake County, North Carolina. We also serve the neighboring communities of Durham and Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Medication-assisted treatment is backed by substantial research as an effective method of treating opioid use disorder, which is the clinical term for opioid addiction. Methadone clinics and other opioid addiction treatment centers have utilized this intervention for decades. As a result of participating in MAT, numerous individuals have found lasting recovery and are able to live healthy and productive lives.

Medication-assisted treatment is effective because it addresses the physical, emotional, and social needs of individuals who are struggling with opioid use disorder. MAT incorporates the use of prescription medications and counseling sessions to provide people with well-rounded care. Through this comprehensive approach, individuals can develop coping skills, rebuild relationships, and regain control of their lives.

For someone who has an opioid addiction, receiving MAT services at an outpatient clinic like Raleigh CTC can aid them in their recovery. By taking part in MAT, they can learn how to navigate the challenging aspects of withdrawal and establish a foundation for lasting wellness. This can empower them to persevere through setbacks and remain committed to their recovery.

Raleigh CTC is a methadone clinic that offers outpatient medication-assisted treatment, which allows individuals to begin their recovery while living at home, working, and fulfilling family and social responsibilities. Our outpatient program goes beyond the offerings of traditional methadone clinics by providing comprehensive care for patients, including individual counseling, group therapy, and diverse medication options. We strive to provide individuals with the tools and resources they need to achieve sustained recovery and reclaim their lives from opioid addiction.

The specific medications that are offered as part of MAT vary depending on the CTC location but may include Suboxone, Sublocade, Vivitrol, buprenorphine, and methadone. These medications are FDA-approved and have proved effective in helping people stop using opioids without suffering from painful withdrawal symptoms. We determine which medication is best for each patient based on their medical history and needs.

Along with medication, individual and group therapy sessions are essential components of treatment in our medication-assisted treatment program. These sessions provide patients with an opportunity to establish connections with people who are facing similar challenges and learn skills to support growth and lasting change. Our experienced therapists tailor these sessions to address patients’ unique needs.

Medication-Assisted Treatment for Opioid Addiction

Beginning opioid addiction treatment can feel overwhelming, and navigating the withdrawal process may feel like a daunting task. At our CTC, our approach to opioid addiction treatment helps people stop opioid use and maintain recovery. Medication-assisted treatment is a highly effective treatment method that helps people have lasting success in recovery.

In our outpatient MAT program at Raleigh CTC, we offer prescriptions for medications that can alleviate painful opioid withdrawal symptoms and reduce opioid cravings, which makes it easier for patients to end their opioid use and fully engage in the therapeutic aspect of treatment. Our medical professionals carefully select the appropriate medication for each patient.

In individual therapy sessions, each patient meets one-on-one with a professional to explore how opioid addiction has impacted their life. Group therapy sessions give patients the opportunity to meet with other patients who have had similar experiences and are also working toward recovery from opioid addictions.

Participating in medication-assisted treatment can lead to positive outcomes in various areas of a person’s life. They are more likely to remain in opioid addiction treatment and achieve their recovery goals if they receive medication-assisted treatment at a clinic like our CTC in Raleigh, North Carolina. The advantages of participating in a MAT program extend beyond merely stopping opioid use. Additional benefits of receiving MAT can include:

  • Reduced dependence on opioids
  • Improved social functioning
  • Enhanced ability to gain and maintain employment
  • Lowered risk for contracting HIV or hepatitis C

Skilled substance abuse treatment professionals lead group therapy sessions at our outpatient treatment center. In these sessions, patients can meet with their peers and discuss topics such as relapse prevention strategies, coping skills, life skills, emotion regulation techniques, and MAT education. In group therapy sessions, patients can share their experiences, offer encouragement, and provide accountability for each other.

When a patient starts treatment at Raleigh CTC, our staff begins planning for their eventual discharge from our outpatient opioid addiction treatment program by creating a detailed aftercare plan. We regularly update a person’s aftercare plan based on the progress they make during treatment. I am so grateful for the staff at Providence CTC. I have been able to abstain from using Opioids for over 2 years with the help of Methadone.  I still am working every day on my recovery, and it gets easier every day.
