Therapies Used at Our Methadone Clinic in Huntingdon Valley, PA
One element of care at methadone clinics is using medication to aid with stopping opioid use. At our treatment center in Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania, we offer methadone and Suboxone to help you accomplish this. These medications are used to ease cravings, allowing you to safely withdraw from opioids. Studies show that people who are treated with medications are more likely to stay in therapy and have greater rates of success in recovery from opioid addiction.
The other component of MAT includes counseling services. We understand that opioid addiction can affect the behavioral, social, and emotional aspects of a person’s life, and we offer individual and group counseling services to address these concerns. This allows us to address the whole person. In therapy, you can work on understanding the nature of your struggles with opioid addiction, and you can develop coping skills to help with avoiding opioid use. You can also learn healthy ways to deal with stress and resolve problems you may be experiencing at work.
In group therapy especially, you will learn that you are not alone in your struggles with opioid addiction. During groups, you can share support with others in the opioid addiction recovery community. Avoiding isolation and forming healthy relationships can be essential to your continued recovery from opioid addiction.
What to Expect at Huntingdon Valley CTC

The intake assessment will involve a detailed discussion of your treatment history and needs so that we can make sure that you get the care you need. This process includes determining whether methadone or Suboxone is the right medication for you. We’ll use the information from this assessment to develop your plan for individual and group therapy as well.
