Wilkes-Barre CTC helps patients establish a strong foundation for opioid addiction recovery.

Is Wilkes-Barre CTC right for you?

Wilkes-Barre Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) offers outpatient treatment for adults age 18 and older of all genders who are struggling with opioid use disorder. The center, which is located in Wilkes-Barre Township, PA, provides medication-assisted treatment (MAT).

About Wilkes-Barre Comprehensive Treatment Center in Wilkes-Barre Township, PA

Conveniently located in Wilkes-Barre Township, Pennsylvania, Wilkes-Barre Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) is a leading provider of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for adults age 18 and older who are struggling with addictions to opioids. MAT incorporates the use of prescription medication and counseling services.

Extensive research has found that MAT is one of the most successful forms of treatment for people who are battling opioid addictions. The medications used in MAT are FDA-approved and have proved to help ease the symptoms of withdrawal. Because withdrawal can be extremely uncomfortable, it is often what causes people to return to using opioids. By taking the medications offered in MAT and not having to suffer from the distressing symptoms associated with withdrawal, people may reduce their risk for relapse.

Patients at our opioid addiction treatment center can receive prescriptions for methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone in addition to participating in individual and group therapy. Prior to beginning treatment, all patients take part in a thorough assessment, and the results of that assessment help our team determine which medication can be of most benefit to the patient.

Every patient receives an individualized treatment plan that guides them throughout their time in our care.

Therapies Used at Wilkes-Barre Comprehensive Treatment Center

While some methadone clinics only offer medication to treat opioid addiction, the team at our facility in Wilkes-Barre Township, Pennsylvania, also offers individual and group counseling services to ensure that our patients have access to fully comprehensive care.

Medications like methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone can help ease the symptoms of withdrawal and prevent relapse, ultimately addressing the physical aspect of addiction. However, to be truly successful in recovery, it can be necessary to address the psychological components as well. By participating in counseling sessions, patients are able to focus on how the behaviors associated with addiction are impacting their lives every day. The discussions that happen in these counseling sessions promote the importance of understanding the mental, emotional, and social aspects of addiction. This can help patients take steps toward making overarching lifestyle changes that can help prevent them from using opioids in the future.

In individual counseling sessions, patients meet one-on-one in a confidential setting with a qualified professional. In group counseling sessions, patients have the chance to meet with other individuals who are struggling with opioid addictions.

Both types of therapy allow patients to receive support and encouragement that can be crucial to their recovery.
