About Charleston Comprehensive Treatment Center in Charleston, WV
Charleston Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) provides outpatient opioid addiction treatment services in Charleston, West Virginia. Adults age 18 and older of all genders can receive medication-assisted treatment (MAT) under the supervision of physicians, nurses, and counselors.
Our methadone clinic offers more than one medication to alleviate opioid cravings and withdrawal symptoms. Depending on a patient’s medical history and recovery needs, they may receive methadone, buprenorphine, naltrexone, or Suboxone to help them stop using opioids.
We understand that medications such as methadone can have varying effects on each person. Our expert team takes the time to identify the right medication and correct dosage levels for every patient, and we monitor every person’s progress to make sure that they are responding positively to treatment.
Therapies Used at Our Charleston Methadone Clinic
Medication-assisted treatment is an effective way to help patients end their opioid use. However, medications such as methadone only treat the physical aspects of opioid addiction. Unlike a typical methadone clinic, Charleston Comprehensive Treatment Center also offers individual and group therapies to address the emotional and psychological components of a person’s opioid use.
By taking part in counseling, patients can gain a better understanding of the influences that may have led them to start using opioids. They can begin to process any memories, experiences, and emotions that might be standing in the way of their recovery, creating a clearer pathway to a drug-free future.
The supportive and encouraging environment we have built at Charleston Comprehensive Treatment Center empowers our patients to actively participate in the recovery process. Our goal is for every person to regain control of their life so that they can successfully return to their home and community.
What to Expect at Charleston CTC
Recovery from opioid use disorder, the clinical term for opioid addiction, is different for every person. At Charleston CTC, we individualize every patient’s treatment to their unique circumstances, life experiences, and recovery goals.
You can expect to take part in a comprehensive assessment before starting any opioid addiction treatment with us. A member of our team will discuss your medical history with you, and you’ll also take part in a series of testing that includes a physical exam, drug testing, and TB testing.
As more than just a methadone clinic, we collaborate with every patient to develop a plan of care that addresses their specific concerns, helping them rediscover hope for a brighter, happier future.
“Methadone gave me a second chance at life, a life that heroin was taking away. I am forever grateful. Thank you!”
