Breaking the cycle of addiction starts with asking for help.

Concord CTC helps patients establish a strong foundation for opioid addiction recovery.

Is Concord CTC right for you?

Concord Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) offers outpatient treatment for adults age 18 and older of all genders who are struggling with opioid use disorder. The center, which is located in Concord, NH, provides medication-assisted treatment (MAT).

About Concord Comprehensive Treatment Center

Concord Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) is an outpatient medication-assisted treatment (MAT) program in Concord, New Hampshire, providing care for adults age 18 and older who are struggling with addictions to opioids like prescription painkillers, heroin, and fentanyl.

Opioid addiction can affect nearly every part of a person's life. It can strain relationships, interfere with work and finances, and lead to serious health complications. It can also lead to overdose. The team at Concord CTC works with each patient to prevent these challenges through MAT, which is a form of opioid addiction treatment that combines the use of medication and counseling so that patients can address the physical and behavioral aspects of addiction at the same time.

Because treatment at our methadone clinic is offered on an outpatient basis, patients can continue meeting their work and family responsibilities while receiving treatment. Each patient in our program gets an individualized treatment plan that outlines the medication they will be prescribed and the counseling services they will receive.

Concord CTC's team includes a physician, a physician assistant, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and a clinical supervisor who is a licensed alcohol and drug counselor. These team members meet regularly with patients to monitor their progress and adjust their treatment plans when needed. Our administrative and admissions staff are also available to help guide patients through each step of the treatment process, from their first phone call through ongoing care.

Located in New Hampshire's capital city, Concord CTC serves patients throughout Merrimack County and the surrounding Concord and Manchester area, giving people a nearby option for evidence-based opioid addiction treatment.

Medication-Assisted Treatment for Opioid Addiction

Medication-assisted treatment is widely regarded by addiction medicine professionals as one of the most effective ways to treat opioid addiction because it addresses both the physical and psychological effects of opioid dependence. At Concord Comprehensive Treatment Center, we provide prescriptions for methadone, which helps reduce cravings and can ease the symptoms of opioid withdrawal.

When a person who is addicted to opioids stops using them, their body needs time to adjust to functioning without the substance. During this adjustment period, they may experience withdrawal symptoms such as muscle aches, nausea, sweating, anxiety, and difficulty sleeping. These symptoms can be significant enough that many people return to opioid use to stop them, reinforcing the cycle of addiction. Cravings can also persist well after a person stops using opioids, which can make it harder to stay on the path to recovery.

The medication used in our opioid treatment program is prescribed by a physician or physician assistant and is intended to help patients gain the physical stability they need to participate in counseling. Patients meet regularly with their treatment team so that their medication can be adjusted when needed.

In addition to receiving medication, patients in our program take part in individual and group counseling. Individual counseling sessions are scheduled based on each patient's clinical needs and treatment goals and take place one-on-one with a counselor. Group counseling sessions are typically held weekly and are led by a counselor. The types of topics that may be covered in the group sessions include substance use education, relapse prevention, coping strategies, emotion regulation, life skills, and education about medication-assisted treatment.

What To Expect at Our Concord Opioid Addiction Treatment Clinic

Patients who are interested in receiving care at our Concord, New Hampshire, methadone clinic can begin the intake process by calling us directly, scheduling an appointment online, or walking in.

During intake, patients first meet with a member of the administrative staff to complete registration paperwork and program consents. Then they meet with a counselor for a comprehensive clinical assessment, followed by a medical provider who completes a physical examination, reviews the patient's medical history, and determines their eligibility for the program. A urine drug screen and bloodwork are also completed as part of the intake process. Once these steps are finished, eligible patients are admitted and scheduled to begin treatment.

We recommend that patients bring a photo ID, their insurance card, and a list of any medication they are currently taking. Concord CTC accepts a range of insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid, and our admissions team can help patients understand their coverage options before entering the program. If a person does not have insurance, our team works with them to determine financial options.

Random drug testing is conducted weekly for a patient's first 90 days in treatment and on a random monthly basis after that. As patients demonstrate progress, medication safety, and clinical stability, they may become eligible for take-home doses of their medication, allowing them to manage their medication outside of the clinic setting.

Concord CTC also works closely with referring providers and, with a patient's consent, coordinates with those referral sources throughout their time in the program when appropriate.

Discharge planning at our treatment center in Concord, New Hampshire, begins early in a patient's care and continues to be refined throughout their time in the program. Patients work with their counselors to set goals for continued recovery and to identify the ongoing support and community resources that will help them maintain their progress after leaving our treatment center.

Depending on each patient's needs, aftercare planning may include continuing drug-free counseling at Concord CTC or a referral to an outside provider, recovery support service, or other community-based resources.
